3 Must-Have Prescriptions You Should Take Every Day

When it comes to first aid, make sure your home has a well-stocked medicine cabinet. You should keep the common medicines and other first-aid supplies necessary for instantly treating an illness or minor injury available for you or others. Few emergency medicines can include headache pills, antacid pills, cough suppressant syrups or tablets, etc. Before heading to a drugstore, it’s highly suggested to check what medicines you have stocked in your medicine shelf/cabinet. Stocking up extra medicines can lead to unpleasant humanistic, economic, and clinical consequences. Get rid of expired medications and old prescriptions by constantly checking and updating your medicine cabinet. You should get prescriptions at least every three months.

Locate a drug-take back center near you to dispose of old medications safely. You can dispose of both prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines at these sites, and if in case you can’t locate these sites, then dump them in house disposals. If you update your medications regularly, you won’t have to worry about taking that pink syrup sitting on your shelf for a stomach ache next time.

How To Choose The Right Medicine?

Before starting a new medicine, consult your doctor, nurse, or another healthcare provider. Make sure you tell your doctor about any allergies and problems you have had with other drugs, such as rashes, breathing problems, indigestion, dizziness, or mood changes. You can find out how long does dramamine take to work here.

Additionally, you should find out if you need to change or stop taking any other prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs while taking this new medication. Combining some drugs can lead to unpleasant and even dangerous side effects. Taking aspirin while taking a blood-thinning medicine, for example, can be hazardous.

In light of this, it is essential to keep a list of all prescription medications and over-the-counter medicines you take.

Paracetamol

Pain is relieved by paracetamol. Additionally, it reduces high temperatures (fever). It is available as a tablet for adults and older children, while it is liquid for younger children and babies. Other options include soluble tablets and melt-in-your-mouth tablets.

Keeping paracetamol on hand at all times is vital if you have young children. Taking too much paracetamol (overdose) is harmful, but it is safe at average doses. Therefore, the person who is taking paracetamol must take the correct dosage. You must not exceed the maximum amount stated on the package.

Anti-Inflammatory Painkillers

Generally, you need a prescription for ibuprofen, but you can buy it at pharmacies and supermarkets. In addition to reducing pain, these drugs also reduce inflammation. In addition to treating muscular aches and sprains, it can also relieve period pain. A fever is also reduced by ibuprofen, like paracetamol.

However, you may also want to try an effective supplement like this artemisinin sweet wormwood supplement, made up with natural ingredients that supports healthy response against inflammation, swelling, and pain throughout the body!

As well as tablets, soluble tablets, melt-in-the-mouth, and liquid forms, ibuprofen also comes in liquid form. Ibuprofen is available in many brands. Depending on your age, you should take a different dose.

Those with stomach ulcers or duodenal ulcers should not take anti-inflammatory pain relievers. As these painkillers may irritate if taken on an empty stomach, it’s best to take them with food if possible. You should stop taking ibuprofen tablets if you experience stomach pain or heartburn after taking them.

Speak to your pharmacist if you are unsure whether you should take them. They may interfere with some prescription medications.

The gels and foams of some anti-inflammatory painkillers, such as ibuprofen and naproxen, can be applied directly to the skin. These are rubbed directly into the area of pain. In the case of degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA), these medications may help you manage your pain. You can also treat sprains and muscle injuries with these medications. If your sprain is not responding to medication, you need Recurrent Ankle Sprain Treatment.

Antihistamines

Medications relieve hay fever and other allergy symptoms like hives (urticaria), sneezing, watery eyes, and runny noses. You can treat bee stings and wasp stings with these creams to reduce the pain and swelling. Taking antihistamines can help manage cat allergies.

Drowsiness may result from some antihistamines, such as chlorphenamine. It may be helpful to take these before bedtime, especially for those suffering from eczema or chickenpox. If they feel less exhausted, using sedatives like loratadine and cetirizine is more convenient and recommended during day-time. It is also possible to buy antihistamine cream applied to stings and bites.

Conclusion

Everyone is concerned about staying healthy and safe. The above recommendations are generic, please do consult your physician or doctor before stocking up your cabinet. For appointments at Jain Hospital to see a doctor, please call on 9015111222
