As they say for motherhood: “all love begins and ends here.” It is indeed the most important phase of a woman’s life. Having your children puts your life into perspective.
But we all know that day by day, the age of becoming a mother is getting delayed. With industrialization and the progress of society, busy working schedule and increasing number of women getting into jobs, motherhood is constantly being delayed.
This comes heavily on the society, as there are problems of infertility, high risk pregnancy, higher congenital anomalies of the baby due to aging chromosomes and other related problems.
If we talk of fertility, the younger the female, at the time of planning pregnancy, the better are the chances of getting pregnant.
Even if one is not able to conceive when young, they gets a long period to opt for various infertility treatments, at reasonable spacing between the treatments to reduce the financial burden on the couple.
After conception, because the increasing age makes a lady more susceptible for general medical illnesses like hypertension, diabetes etc., so the pregnancy has higher chances of getting complicated.
Lastly, aging chromosomes are a very important aspect, because not all genetic anomalies can be detected during pregnancy, and it adds to the load of the society to manage specially-abled children.
A day will probably come when the society will be forced to think umpteen times between late marriages & late child birth versus a safe natural young motherhood and a delayed career.
