10 Things You Should Know Before Going Through IVF

The decision to undertake IVF can be thrilling and terrifying. It’s critical to physically, emotionally, and financially prepare oneself for IVF’s roller-coaster journey. While every couple is different in how they approach and experience their treatment, here are the ten things you should know before starting IVF procedure:

#1 Prepare Your Body For IVF

Even with IVF, most people are unaware of how crucial their overall health is to conceive. If your body nourishes life for nine months, it must be in good form.

#2 Do Not Put Your Faith in IVF Success Rates at Face Value

Many couples mistake selecting a clinic based on their success statistics. Because IVF success rates are easily manipulated, people should not believe in them.

#3 Ask About the Prices and Don’t Take the Cheapest Option

You will be charged differently by different clinics. Some will offer you an all-inclusive plan, while others will tell you that you must pay separately. Check up on the costs of blood tests, analysis of sperm, and several other diagnostic tests, consultation fees, scans, ovarian stimulation, oocyte retrieval, semen processing, and embryo transfer.

#4 It Is Important to Consider Your Age

The earlier they are started, the better the chances of success for infertility treatments. Fertility declines in women from 35 and accelerates during the 30s and 40s.

#5 It Could Be Painful and Inconvenient

Indeed, injectable medicines are not difficult to administer. Still, they do have the power of inducing adverse effects like cramps, bloating, breast tenderness, mood swings, headaches, and abdominal pain.

#6 You May Need More Than One Treatment Cycle

IVF has a success rate of roughly 35% on average, which means that most patients will need multiple treatments before attaining a viable pregnancy. Success rates are always modestly improving as new procedures are created and fine-tuned. If you’re starting fertility therapy, it’s critical to think of it as a course of treatment rather than a single procedure.

#7 Frozen Embryos are Better Than Frozen Eggs

Embryos are better than eggs for freezing because they are more stable and have a better chance of surviving thawing. According to some estimates, a woman under the age of 35 who freezes 12 eggs has a 50% chance of conceiving a child with these eggs through reproductive care.

#8 With IVF, You’re More Likely to Have Several Pregnancies

Fertility therapy is well known for increasing the possibility of multiple pregnancies. Instead, they’re frequently the product of high-dose fertility medications and intrauterine insemination (IUI).

#9 There Are Other Techniques Too

Embryoscope, PGD, and PGS are some of the other methods that may help with success. An embryo scope is a sort of incubator that includes a live camera feed.

#10 Maintain A Well-Balanced Diet

There comes a myriad of body issues with procedures like IVF unless your body is physically ready for the process. Maintaining a balanced diet is a healthy outlet to manage stress and other deficiencies that come along the way.

Conclusion

When the odds of achieving conception via IVF are somewhat slim, you should think of donating eggs, donor embryos, or donor sperm.  That suggests your wish to bring home a baby can still come true.
